*because he was too horny and she was too emotional

[Written back in.. 2009 or so? Very very old line, came up with to cheer up a friend in doldrums, and a prompt for both of us to write a story based on a wisecrack :P. Lots of cheese in this, but hey, cheese usually cheers people up. don't judge.]
This is the story of first loves. this is the story of first kisses and feeling accomplished because they held hands. She believed in fairy tales and prince charmings. And he believed in getting a 'real' girlfriend to show off to his friends. She first saw him, cycling past her in the school uniform. He leered as he went, and she blushed in response. Because she was emotional, his leer was a grin. Because he was horny even though he meant to grin, it came out as a leer. Target acquired. Because he was too horny and she was too emotional.

For he was tall and she was tall. He was cool and she was a lunatic. And one day they shared a kiss, and before that many many over-analysed sidelong glances, tension in their pinky finger's touching and sweaty palms. Because he was too horny and she was too emotional.

For hi shirt tucked out, and her skirt hitched higher was a form of defiance. For lunch dates were sharing what dried roti she got in stainless steel tiffins and his mother's aloo gobi. For love and rebellion were eating ice creams outside of school gates and walking back hand in hand. Jealousy was exchanging lab notes with an another girl and coming back from basketball with another guy. Fights were snide comments in stuffy classroom and acerbic notes passed with ten people in between. Break ups were silent treatments and gossip wildfire. Reconciliation was practicing in the same group for annual day or sports day. And first loves where because he was too horny and she was too emotional.

For he was taller, she was now an average. Of saving up and spending money ridiculously on gadgets and junk food. Of texting between classes becoming a substitute for note passing, "where are you" becoming "whr u" and meeting up in the regular college hangout. When making maggi in the other's hostel room is a sign of commitment, when love is when he is horny and jaded she is horny too.
All in all, stories of love that don't get much attention, when they get married, they are both horny and emotional. They stumble on milestones like babies, grumbling their way through taking turns on staying up and diaper change, and their love is....kids!..life insurance!..loans!..shit, we are not paying for the goddamn college!..why on earth do we need a sandwich maker?!... everything is chaos and love is just them winging it and watching their kids grow up.

So when the story winds down towards its inevitable end, love was when he reminds her to put her teeth in water before going to bed and her telling him for the umpteenth time not to trip on his own cane- because old man, it's on the right side of the bed and you are not blind yet- she would say.And he would point at her bifocals as if to make a point and they'll settle down in front of the TV and cry over advertisements with old people and chocolates because advertisements are just CRUEL. Oh, and also because this time, they both were emotional.
